The opening of the 5th International Hamza Nigari Symposium was made by Shahla Khalili, Member of the Board of the People's Union for Cultural Heritage Studies. Khalili greeted the participants on behalf of the Symposium Scientific and Organizing Committee and gave information about the symposium. After Amasya (2012), Baku-Gazakh (2014), Shamakhi (2017), Amasya-Merzifon-Suluova (2018) locations, he emphasized the importance of holding the 5th International Hamza Nigari Symposium in Guzanlı settlement and Garapirimli village. He expressed his hope that the next symposium will be held in Cicimli village of Laçin district, where the poet and saint longing for Karabakh was born and raised.
Deputy Chairman of the Cultural Committee of Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Dr. Ganira Pashayeva talked about the history of Islam and mysticism in Azerbaijan, and Hamza Nigari's personality as a saint and poet, emphasizing that it is an example of heritage. Expressing that the symposium was held in the village of Garapirimli, where Hamza Nigari grew up, he thanked those who researched and supported his legacy. He talked about the importance of examining the Garapirimli quarry and restoring it as a historical and cultural monument. Aghdam Region Executive Force Chairman Vagif Hasanov said that he is pleased to host the 5th International Science Symposium, dedicated to Seyid Mir Hamza Nigari, who opened his eyes to the world in Karabakh and glorified the love of Karabakh with his literary and philosophical works. He emphasized that the soul of the poet and saint, who said "Karabakh is my heart," and burned with longing for Karabakh, found peace. The reason for this is that the Cicimli village of the Lachin district, where the poet was born, the Garapirimli village of the Agdam district, where he was educated, the city of Shusha, where he attended literary meetings, the Mirler village of the Gubadli district, where his relatives and friends lived, are now free thanks to the heroism of the Commander-in-Chief Muzaffer Ali and his army.
